Monarch Dunes Golf Course
Surrounded by windswept dunes, coastal vistas and amber-colored hillsides, Monarch Dunes Old Golf Course introduced the links-style golf to the central coast. The golf course has a natural , rugged appearance enhanced by the dunes that were shaped throughout the fairways and around the greens.
The Challenge Course
The Challenge Course, and second of the two golf courses at Monarch Dunes is unique to the Central Coast. A collection of 12 par-three holes that will appeal to both the veteran player and the golfing newcomer. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3aEMPIOa40&t=20s
The goal from the designer's perspective, was to create a golf experience that would complement The Old Course. The 12 holes on The Challenge Course range in length from 20 yards to 205 yards. Players will have the opportunity to hit a variety of clubs when they tee it up.
Five Lakes come into play on holes 3,4,5,8 and 9. The residential development uses these golf course lakes to handle 100% of the project's storm water. The lakes were designed for extra capacity so storm water can be stored ad dissipate back into the ground to recharge the aquifer.
